Brief Notes from 4-10-08


-Edwin Jackson (2-0) had a great line (8.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 6 K’s)

-Edwin Encarnacion hit 2 HR.

-Aaron Harang pitched 8 innings of one-hit ball, but only had 3 K’s.

-Bill Hall has hit safely in 6 straight games and 8 of 9.

-Kevin Millwood gave up just 3 hits in 7 innings allowing one run. His ERA is 1.29 through 3 starts, while his record is 1-2. He did walk 5 batters.

-Joaquin Benoit can provide some nice middle relief innings. He has 7 K’s in 3 IP.

-C.J. Wilson saved both games of the doubleheader pitching 2 perfect innings.

-Geovany Soto went 4-5 raising his BA to .333.

-Rich Hill only lasted 3 innings giving up 3 hits, 3 ER, and 4 BB.

-Jon Lieber came in to pitch 4.1 shutout innings winning his second game in middle relief in 4 days.

-Keep riding J.D. Drew while he’s hot. He’s currently hitting .440 after a 3-3 game.

-Magglio Ordonez hit his first HR, which also accounted for his first RBI.

-Shaun Marcum had 8 K’s in 7 innings and has 16 in 14 IP this season with a 2.57 ERA.

-Ryan Zimmerman has gone seven games without an RBI.

-David Wright had his first 2 steals and Jose Reyes his first.

-John Maine allowed 5 hits and 5 BB in 6 IP.

-Every Yankee had a hit except Robinson Cano who is batting .179.

-Albert Pujols stole his second bag of the year.
