The unheralded Blue Jays' 2B Aaron Hill is red hot to start the season. He is confirming the sleeper status that was applied to him by some fantasy experts including myself. Hill was a guy that you could find in rounds 15 and beyond in mixed league drafts that I thought could out-perform second basemen that were taken much earlier. Hill went 2-3 last night including a HR, 3RBI and a run scored. That brings his season totals to 18-53 giving him a .339 BA with 2 HR, 13 RBI, 7 R and 1 SB. He seems to be improving his game everyday in Toronto and the Blue Jays have taken notice by signing him to a new 4 year contract. If you are in desperate need of a 2B, you may want to trade to get him. He is probably a MI on most teams which means you still may be able to get him fairly cheap. It would be worth a shot considering if he stays healthy he will hit 20 HR easy which is hard to come by for a second baseman. Hill is showing no signs of slowing down at all either. He was hitting 9th in the Jays' order but move up to 2nd for yesterday's big day and he could stay there permanently. Hill says he enjoys hitting 2nd because of all the fire power that is behind him. He can stay patient and not try to swing at everything in order to make something happen. The move to 2nd in the order will give Hill more AB's which means more stats. There's only more good things to come from this kid.
